It's been a busy couple weeks consulting lately, and I'm happy to have been able to work on a wide variety on projects in such a short time.

Wow! What a day I had yesterday. Upgrading Magento from 1.3.2.4 to 1.4.0.1 was an absolute nightmare! I managed to get a clients installation up and running in around 5 hours but it wasn't easy. So to help out my fellow Magento developers here is how I upgraded the software and consequently fixed a lot of MySQL bugs at the same time.

As a professional online marketing consultant, a large part of my job is training my clients to the highest standards of search engine marketing (SEO) best practice, user experience design / customer-centered design and online marketing strategies. I serve a variety of international clients and provide premium search marketing, social marketing and search engine optimization training and consultation services.

It's been a busy few seeks since becoming a full-time user experience design and online marketing consultant. My latest work is for a traditional print-based marketing agency located on the outskirts of Bristol and has been a fun couple of days so far.

The company are moving to a full service agency business model and I am advising them on the first foray into integrated online marketing with the aim of creating a strategy that will be the bedrock of their future search marketing, social marketing and search engine optimization activities. This is blank canvas time and by the end of my consultation the company will have a solid foundation from which to launch online marketing services.
