I created GeoLocator is response to constant questions from my clients about how to serve location-based content and redirect customers to a regional web page for events and promotions. No solution existed on the market so I set about creating GeoLocator. The upshot is that GeoLocator will make a website location-aware. What is GeoLocator?

GeoLocator is a JavaScript Application that serves as middle-ware between the user and a GeoCoder such as GeoIP from Maxmind. GeoLocator takes a few simple location details such as city, region and country and using an easy to administer JavaScript application the user can be shown static or dynamic content served via AJAX or redirected to a certain web page based of their location.

Who is it for?

GeoLocator is the perfect companion for businesses with more than one physical location such as a department store. If a customer is based in New York and arrives at your site then you can provide them with New York based content, no more generic messages, just simple well targeted content. This is great for informing customers about in-store sales and discounts.
