User experience design involves the creation of interactions that affect a customer's experience with a company, product or brand, with the intent of influencing customer perceptions and behavior. Interactions range from touch (physical products and packaging), hearing (music, ambient noise, commercials) and smell (the aroma of flowers outside a flower shop). There are many situations where a UX designer will create a competitive advantage for your company.
The suitability of design is extremely important to the success and longevity of an interactive project such as a website or web application. By utilizing user experience design best practice and standards-based building techniques, I provide accessible W3C compliant websites that are pleasing to the eye and work across different platforms, browsers and devices.
The goal of user interface design is to empower the customer so they feel confident and happy when using your software application. To facilitate the customer's needs and requirements when using your software a user interface designer such as myself will adopt an approach called user-centered design - design centered on the individual user's abilities and goals.
Having previously designed and created advertising content such as website banners and creative for American, European and Australasian markets, I have good knowledge of both UK and international markets, and their associated seasonal trends. My work has been published on sites such as: Guardian.co.uk, Economist.com, About.com, Easyjet.com and Nationalreview.com, using a mixture of static, animated and interactive media. Each banner design is tailored to match both the marketing message and stylistic attributes of the host website.
Video and animation is used extensively within multimedia and the web and this is set to expand at an exponential rate with the global adoption of faster Internet connections. As a multimedia designer, I produce video and animation for a number of platforms and devices such as: DVD, CD-ROM, and the web.
