Website Design

The suitability of design is extremely important to the success and longevity of an interactive project such as a website or web application. By utilising modern design practices and standards-based building techniques, I provide accessible W3C compliant websites that are pleasant on the eye; an ingredient missing from a vast amount of websites.

Redesign (Evolution not Revolution)

If you have an existing website that you feel may be under-performing then please contact me and I will be happy to meet with you to discuss problems that are immediately identifiable. Although this service isn't free, it will enable you to get a handle on things that could be improved and possible costs involved in future work.

Content Management

Using the Drupal content management system allows me to offer a fully tailored CMS without the extra overhead of purchasing a software license.

Drupal is an extensible platform from which to launch on-line ventures such as community driven blogs, forums, social networks and bespoke web applications. Drupal is used by many top name publishers and organisations including Warner Brothers Records, The New York Observer, Harvard University and Amnesty International.

User Interface Design

The goal of user interface design is to make the user's interaction as simple and efficient as possible when accomplishing system tasks. This approach is often called user-centered design - design centered on the individual user's abilities, goals and tasks.

Types of Interaction

As an experienced user interface designer my work is used on many different devices including mobile devices, kiosk and installations, desktop and online software applications, and websites for commerce and publicity.

Each type of device requires a bespoke approach to design due to the physical restrictions of the device. For example, a mobile phone has no mouse a limited keyboard of around 12 buttons when compared to a desktop computer with both mouse and full keyboard. Within interactive design one size does not fit all; each device will need a design implementation that maximizes the individual's interactions with your system.

I have designed and developed user interfaces for both UK and international clients including Nesta Futurelab, Champs-Elyseacute;es Inc and other professional organisations with interfaces ranging from touch screen information retrieval to Web 2.0 subscription management and fulfillment systems.

Motion Graphics

As a multimedia designer I have in-depth experience of producing high-quality motion graphics for DVD, CD-ROM, and the Web using a mixture of authoring techniques including Adobe After Effects and Flash.

Each banner ad is tailored to match both the marketing message and stylistic attributes of the host website.
