Study Bridge Group are a startup based in Bristol and South Wales who provide outsourced international student recruitment and marketing services to universities and colleges. They approached me to design and build their digital assets and products that form the key components of their service offering.
Study Bridge Group required an extensive mix of design and development skills including corporate identity design, user experience design and the creation of digital assets including a large news publishing site, corporate website and micro-sites that form the basis of the startups services.
The startup's main demographic was a mixture of international universities and users spread across different geographic regions so website speed, SEO and usability were key drivers for the company.
What I did
Having previously worked on various products and services for startups, I knew that it was important that the digital products developed for Study Bridge Group were created to be flexible and extensible. This would ensure that the company had an adaptable set of tools from which to grow their business. It also became evident during initial discussions that the project required more than one person working on it so I was happy to bring in Modular Digital Design Studio to design the initial visual aspects of the project. This allowed me to concentrate on developing the digital products that would enable my client to launch and sell their products and services to potential customers.
WordPress was selected as the CMS of choice for their news publishing website as it provides a simple to use administrative interface which suited the editorial skills and capabilities of staff within Study Bridge Gruop. WordPress also provides a flexible framework with limited hosting requirements and many great features that make it ideal for startups of all shapes and sizes.
Twitter Bootstrap was used to power the front-end and a custom WordPress theme was created based on the designs supplied my Modular Digital Design Studio. I provided various services to Study Bridge Group during the initial launch phase of the company including basic online marketing and SEO advice that helped the company move forward quickly in a competitive market place.
As a startup, Study Bridge Group have created a strong brand within the international student recruitment and higher education marketing sector. The digital products I created for the startup allowed them to quickly generate leads and sales, and they are in a great position to grow the company with an extensible digital presence with limited maintenance costs.
